On or about Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, around 4:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a FedEx box truck sent a truck driver to the hospital. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along Interstate 294 near the exchange with Cicero Avenue in Alsip, Illinois.

Illinois State Police representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the FedEx box truck they were driving allegedly drove off the side of Interstate 294 and struck a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the side of the roadway. Emergency responders transported the driver of the FedEx box truck to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 294 winds east and west along the southern edge of Alsip, which is situated roughly 25 miles south of downtown Chicago.

Deputies from the Cook County Sheriff’s Department assisted ISP after the accident.
