On or about Monday, April 25th, 2022, around 7:55 in the morning, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a fire truck left one individual dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 20 in Smith County, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas DPS said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the vehicle they were in allegedly collided with a fire truck at the scene of a previous accident. Paramedics transported the driver of the passenger vehicle to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity. Officials did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the exchange with Highway 155.
