On or about Sunday, December 19th, 2021, around 3:20 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a flatbed work trailer sent one individual to the hospital. Investigators said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 231 and Buck Road (Highway 222) in Middlesex, North Carolina.
Law enforcement spokespeople said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the pickup truck they were riding in allegedly collided with a flatbed work trailer being towed behind a truck. Emergency responders transported the passenger in the pickup truck a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity. Officials did not mention any other injuries in connection with the accident.
According to Google Maps, Middlesex is about 198 miles northeast of downtown Charlotte.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
