On or about Monday, January 10th, 2022, around 4:00 in the morning, an accident between a garbage truck and a pedestrian sent one individual to the hospital. Authorities said the accident was reported along East Silver Street not far from the intersection of North Oakland Avenue in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when they were allegedly hit by a passing garbage truck as they were walking down or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic on East Silver Street. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital with serious injuries stemming from the incident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Sharon is about 70 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
