On or about Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, a single-vehicle garbage truck accident left one person injured. Deputies from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Kittanning Street and William Flynn Highway in Etna, Pennsylvania.
Officials said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when a garbage truck allegedly suffered a mechanical failure that caused it to veer off the road and smash into a house a short distance off the pavement. One person suffered a minor injury, bug police did not specify if the victim was in the garbage truck or an occupant of the residence.
According to Google Maps, Etna is located about six miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh.
Police are still working to determine all the factors that may have led to the accident.
