On or about Tuesday, February 8th, 2022, around 10:21 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a garbage truck sent one individual to the hospital. Authorities from the NYPD said the accident was reported on Route 59 in Spring Valley, New York.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified pedestrian was injured when they were allegedly hit by a passing garbage truck as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Route 59. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to Westchester Medical Center with unspecified injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Spring Valley is on the north side of New York City.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
