On or about Monday, April 25th, 2022, around 4:51 in the morning, an accident between a garbage truck and a pedestrian left one person seriously injured. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported in the 2100 block of West Yosemite Avenue in Manteca, California.
Authorities from the California Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when they were allegedly hit by a garbage truck as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of West Yosemite Avenue. Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Airport Way.
Police are still looking into the cause of the accident.
