On or about Saturday, January 9th, 2021, around 2:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a pedestrian and a heavy-duty truck sent one man to the hospital in critical condition. Local law enforcement sources said the accident happened along State Line Avenue in Texarkana, Texas.
Authorities said an unidentified 35-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after he was allegedly struck by a Ford F-550 truck that subsequently fled the scene. Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a nearby hospital to be where they were last reported in critical condition. Later in the day, 22-year-old Montavious Sharp turned himself into authorities in connection with the accident.
Police said Sharp faces charges of aggravated assault stemming from the incident.
Police are still trying to pin down the sequence of events that led to the incident.
