Details:
On or about Thursday, December 30th, 2021, around 8:00 at night, a serious hit-and-run car accident sent a 21-year-old woman to the hospital. Spokespeople from the EPPD said the accident was reported at the intersection of Kernal Circle and Betel Drive in El Paso, Texas.
Officers from the El Paso Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified 21-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was allegedly struck by a passing motorist as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic at Betel Drive and Kernal Circle. After the initial accident, the driver fled the scene, but police did not specify if they fled the scene on foot, or if they took their vehicle. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Betel Drive and Kernal Circle is on the southeast side of El Paso.
Police are still trying to track down the driver.
