On or about Tuesday, March 15th, 2022, around 5:00 in the evening, a hit-and-run car accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle sent a 13-year-old boy to the hospital. Local law enforcement representatives said the accident was reported in the 4800 block of John David Drive in Killeen, Texas.
Authorities from the Killeen Police Department said an as-of-yet unidentified 13-year-old boy was injured when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle as he was playing basketball along John David Drive. After the initial accident, the vehicle that struck the boy fled the scene. Paramedics transported the teenager to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Killeen is about 69 miles north of downtown Austin.
Police are still trying to find the driver and vehicle that fled the scene of the accident.
