Details:
On or about Friday, December 31st, 2021, around 3:35 in the morning, a serious hit-and-run car accident sent a 37-year-old man to the hospital. Officials from the DCSO said the accident was reported along Loop 288 near the exchange with Mingo Road in Denton, Texas.
Officers from the Denton Police Department said an as-of-yet unidentified 37-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly hit by an SUV while chaining a tire on the side of Loop 288. After the initial accident, the SUV fled the scene. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are still trying to track down the SUV and driver who fled the scene.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Loop 288 and Mingo Road is on the northeast side of Denton.
Officials are still investigating.
