Details:
On or about Friday, November 12th, 2021, around 7:23 in the morning, a serious accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer sent one individual to the hospital by helicopter. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 57 in Farina, Illinois.
Officials from the Illinois State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was seriously hurt when the SUV they were in allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer on the southbound side of I-57. Paramedics airlifted the driver of the SUV to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 57 runs north and south on the western edge of Farina, which is about 236 miles south of Chicago.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
