On or about Monday, November 16th, 2020, around 9:00 in the morning, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident sent a truck driver to the hospital. SLPD said the accident happened at the intersection of 2300 East and 2100 South in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified truck driver was injured when his 18-wheeler allegedly suffered a brake failure when it veered off the pavement and crashed into a monument. Paramedics transported the truck driver to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Police did not mention any other vehicles or injuries.

Looking at the intersection on Google Streetview shows 2300 East is two lanes that run north and south, while 2100 South is two lanes that run east and west. Only 2100 South has a stop sign at the intersection. The intersection is nestled in the eastern part of Salt Lake City.

State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the accident.
