On or about Thursday, June 16th, 2022, around 7:20 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a tractor-trailer and a person on a moped sent one individual to the hospital. Troopers from the NCHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of 27th Street and Patterson Avenue in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Local law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when they were allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as they were riding a moped at 27th Street and Patterson Avenue. After the initial accident, the driver of the tractor-trailer fled the scene. Emergency responders transported the driver of the moped to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 27th Street and Patterson Avenue is on the north side of Winston-Salem.
Authorities are still looking for the driver and tractor-trailer that fled the scene.
