On or about Monday, October 11th, 2021, a major tractor-trailer accident sent at least one person to the hospital. Deputies from the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the 550 Interchange in Olmito, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives said at least one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly rolled under unknown conditions while navigating the 550 Interchange. Police did not indicate if there were any other vehicles involved in the incident. Emergency responders transported one person to the hospital with unknown injuries following the crash.
According to Google Maps, Olmito is situated a short distance north of the Mexican border, about 9 miles north of Brownsville.
