On or about Saturday, March 27th, 2021, around 9:45 at night, an accident between a flatbed tractor-trailer and a pickup truck sent a 17-year-old boy to the hospital. Troopers from the FHP said the accident happened at the intersection of County Road 18 and Southwest 118th Lane in Bradford County, Florida.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified 17-year-old boy was injured when his pickup truck allegedly struck the side of a flatbed tractor-trailer that was turning across both lanes of traffic. Paramedics transported the teen to a nearby hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident. A passenger in the pickup truck and the driver of the tractor-trailer were uninjured in the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of County Road 18 and Southwest 118th Lane is about 15 miles north of Gainesville.
Florida Highway Patrol and local police are examining the factors that may have led to the accident.
