One Seriously Injured in Tandem Tractor-Trailer Accident at River and Commerce in St. George

On or about Tuesday, October 13th, 2020, a collision between a pickup truck and a tandem tractor-trailer sent one man to the hospital. The accident happened at the intersection of Commerce Drive and River Road in St. George, Utah.

St. George Police have said that one as-of-yet unidentified man was hurt when the pickup truck he was driving was hit by the towed unit of an 18-wheeler that allegedly turned and swung the trailer into the pickup’s front end.

First responders extricated the driver from the pickup truck and rushed them to Dixie Medical Center where he was reported in serious condition.

An examination of the area on Google Maps shows that River Road and Commerce Drive are both four lanes, with Commerce Drive governed by a stop sign at the intersection. The intersection is located in the south part of St. George.

Utah Highway Patrol Troopers are assisting in the accident investigation.
