Details:
On or about Monday, January 4th, 2021, around 9:00 in the morning, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a car claimed the life of one man. Police indicated the accident happened on Elkhart Road in Edwardsburg, Michigan.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said one person was killed when their car allegedly veered over the center line of Elkhart Road and slammed head-on into a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes. Emergency responders cut the victim from the wreckage and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries a short time later.
Police said the victim’s car may have been driving erratically or had a flat tire before the collision.
Michigan State Police is assisting local authorities with the accident investigation.
