Details:
On or about Wednesday, January 27th, 2021, around 2:15 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian sent a 36-year-old woman to the hospital. Officials from the area said the accident happened on the southbound side of Highway 101 just outside Gaviota, California.
Deputies from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said a 36-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer after exiting a vehicle on the shoulder. Paramedics transported the woman to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with unknown injuries. Police did not mention any other injuries.
Gaviota is located about 126 miles west of Los Angeles, according to Google Maps.
California Highway Patrol and local police are investigating.
