On or about Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, around 8:20 in the morning, an accident between a propane tanker truck and an SUV sent one individual to the hospital. Troopers from the CSP said the accident was reported along Highway 115 just outside Penrose in Fremont County, Colorado.

Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a propane tanker truck allegedly crossed over the center line of Highway 115 when it collided with an SUV in the oncoming lanes. Authorities believe the truck driver may have become distracted in the moments before the accident. Paramedics transported one person in the SUV to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Penrose, which is about 33 miles southwest of Colorado Springs.

Officials are still investigating the accident.
