On or about Thursday, June 10th, 2021, around 7:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler hauling cattle sent one individual to the hospital. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened along Highway 54 in Hartley, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly collided with a semi truck that pulled onto the highway. Paramedics transported one person to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident. Officials did not mention any more vehicles in their initial statement on the crash.
According to Google Maps, Highway 54 runs northwest and southeast through Hartley County, which is about 79 miles northeast of downtown Amarillo.
Police expect to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
