Details:
On or about Thursday, July 8th, 2021, around 5:50 in the evening, an accident between a car and two tractor-trailers sent one individual to the hospital. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Highway 58 in Chester Avenue in Bakersfield, California.
Troopers from the CHP said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when their car was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer and crushed against the rear of an 18-wheeler. Paramedics cut the driver of the car from the wreckage and rushed them to the hospital with severe injuries.
Police have reason to believe the driver of the tractor-trailer may have been on the phone at the time of the accident.
State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
