On or about Tuesday, June 8th, 2021, around 2:20 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer sent a 38-year-old woman to the hospital. Deputies from the Merced County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened along Highway 59 near the intersection with Sandy Mush Road in Merced, California.
California Highway Patrol Troopers said an as-of-yet unidentified 38-year-old woman was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly crossed over the center line of Highway 59 and struck her car. Paramedics rushed the woman from the car to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the collision. The driver of the tractor-trailer refused medical transport.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Highway 59 and Sandy Mush Road is a short distance south of Merced, which is about 130 miles east of San Francisco.
Police are still investigating the accident.
