On or about Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer sent one individual to the hospital. Authorities from the OSHP said the accident was reported at or near 11305 Highway 62 North in Fayette County, Ohio.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the SUV they were in allegedly slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer. Pictures from the scene of the accident show the tractor-trailer may have been partially off the roadway and protruding onto the pavement, but officials did not clarify if that is where the truck was positioned at the time of the collision. Emergency responders transported one person from the SUV to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated about 41 miles southwest of downtown Columbus.

Authorities are still working to pin down the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
