On or about Thursday, January 28th, 2021, around 12:00 in the afternoon, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident left one person with injuries. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened on U.S. Highway 96 in Buna, Texas.
Law enforcement spokespeople said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when the 18-wheeler they were driving allegedly rolled off the side of Highway 96 and crashed a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics treated one individual for unspecified injuries at the scene. Officials did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary report.
According to Google Maps, Buna is located about 118 miles northeast of the greater Houston area.
Police hope to release more information at a later date.
