Details:
On or about Thursday, December 17th, 2020, an accident between an SUV and an 18-wheeler sent one individual to the hospital with serious injuries. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Interstate 90 in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Authorities said one person was hurt when a tractor-trailer allegedly pulled off the shoulder of the interstate when it collided with an SUV. The driver of the SUV was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries after the crash. The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured in the crash.
Google Maps shows Interstate 80 is eight lanes in the area, with a concrete barrier dividing east and westbound traffic. Schaumburg is located about 32 miles northeast of downtown Chicago.
Illinois State Police is assisting in the investigation.
