On or about Monday, October 25th, 2021, around 5:30 in the morning, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer rollover accident sent one person to the hospital. Authorities from the MDoT said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 196 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Police said one as-of-yet unidentified truck driver was injured when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly lost control and rolled when the load may have shifted while he was driving eastbound on I-196. Paramedics transported the truck driver to a nearby hospital with a hand injury stemming from the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 196 runs east and west through Grand Rapids, which is about 157 miles west of downtown Detroit.

Police are still examining the cause of the accident.
