On or about Friday, April 15th, 2022, around 8:50 at night, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a disabled 18-wheeler sent one individual to the hospital. Spokespeople from the NCHP said the accident was reported at or near the exchange of Interstate 40 and Interstate 85 in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Troopers from the North Carolina Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly hit the back of an 18-wheeler that had become disabled in the lanes of traffic. Emergency responders cut the driver of the rear tractor-trailer from the wreckage and rushed them to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 85 cuts north and south, while Interstate 40 cuts east and west into Hillsborough.
Police are still examining the details surrounding the crash.
