On or about Wednesday, April 6th, 2022, around 3:25 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle send a 16-year-old driver to the hospital. Investigators said the accident was reported along Interstate 57 in Effingham, Illinois.
Law enforcement representatives from the area said an as-of-yet unidentified 16-year-old was injured when the vehicle they were in allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer while making an attempt to pass another 18-wheeler. Emergency responders transported the driver of the passenger vehicle to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Fayette Avenue and Interstate 57 is on the west side of Effingham.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
