On or about Monday, July 12th, 2021, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tanker truck sent one individual to the hospital. Troopers from the DPS said the accident occurred along the northbound side of Interstate 69 in Fort Bend County, Texas.

Officials said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when their car allegedly struck the back of a tanker truck that was parked on the northbound shoulder of Interstate 69. Emergency responders airlifted the driver of the car to the hospital where medical staff last reported them in critical condition. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the crash.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident on Interstate 69 is not far from the Williams Way exit, which is about 35 miles southwest of downtown Houston.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
