On or about Friday, September 17th, 2021, around 12:50 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer, four cars and three SUVs sent one person to the hospital. Troopers from the CSP said the accident was reported along the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Eisenhower-Johnson Tunnel in Keystone, Colorado.

Officials from the Colorado State Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when four cars, three SUVs and a tractor-trailer collided in a chain-reaction accident along the westbound side of I-70. Police did not elaborate on how the accident could have started. Emergency responders transported one person to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Authorities did not indicate which vehicle the victim was in at the time of the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 runs east and west through Keystone, which is about 70 miles west of downtown Denver.

Police are still examining the cause of the accident.
