One Injured in Tractor-Trailer Accident on Interstate 70 near Taywood Road in Englewood

On or about Thursday, December 9th, 2021, around 1:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler sent one individual to the hospital. Troopers from the OSHP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 70 near Taywood Road in Englewood, Ohio.

Police officers from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly ran into the semi truck they were driving after they had jackknifed in the roadway. The driver of the jackknifed tractor-trailer was transported by emergency responders to nearby Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The driver of the other 18-wheeler was unhurt.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 cuts east and west through the southern edge of Englewood, which is about 14 miles northwest of downtown Dayton.

Police are still working to determine the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
