Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, around 2:30 in the afternoon, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a car sent one person to the hospital by helicopter. Officials from the ISP said the accident happened on the eastbound side of Interstate 70 just outside Greenup in Cumberland County, Illinois.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified person was seriously injured when their car and a tractor-trailer collided under unknown conditions in the eastbound lanes. Paramedics airlifted one person from the car to a nearby hospital in order to be treated for serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 7 miles east of Greenup, which is about 125 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri.
Multiple agencies are investigating the accident.
