On or about Saturday, June 19th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car sent one individual to the hospital. Deputies from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along the northbound side of Interstate 77 in Princeton, West Virginia.

Troopers from the West Virginia State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when a car and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances. After the initial collision, the tractor-trailer tipped to one side. Emergency responders transported one person to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident. Police did not say if the victim was in the car or the tractor-trailer at the time of the crash.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 77 runs north and south along the eastern edge of Princeton, which is about 92 miles south of Charleston.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
