Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, a major multi-vehicle tractor-trailer chain-reaction accident sent at least one person to the hospital. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 80/94 just outside Munster, Indiana.
Indiana State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a tractor-trailer hauling salt allegedly struck an 18-wheeler on the shoulder of I-90/84, causing a chain-reaction collision that somehow ensnared a third tractor-trailer. Emergency responders transported one of the truck drivers to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 80/94 cuts east and west through the northwest corner of Munster, which is about 28 miles south of downtown Chicago, Illinois.
Officials are still investigating.
