Details:
On or about Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer sent one person to the hospital by helicopter. Troopers from the NHP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 80 just outside Lovelock, Nevada.
Nevada Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified person was rushed to the hospital after they were allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the eastbound lanes of I-80. Paramedics airlifted the pedestrian to a hospital in Reno with serious injuries stemming from the accident. Officials did not mention any other vehicles in their initial report on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 80 cuts east and west through Lovelock, which is about 442 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
State and local law enforcement are investigating.
