Details:
On or about Sunday, November 7th, 2021, around 12:00 in the morning, a major single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident sent one individual to the hospital. Representatives from the Virginia State Police said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 81 in Botetourt County, Virginia.
Authorities from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the tractor-trailer they were driving allegedly drove off the side of Interstate 81 and crashed down an embankment. Paramedics transported the driver of the tractor-trailer to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial report on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 81 cuts north and south through Botetourt County, which is a short distance north of Roanoke.
Officials are still examining all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
