On or about Tuesday, November 9th, 2021, a serious single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident sent one individual to the hospital. Troopers from the PSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 81 at St. Johns Road in Butler Township, Pennsylvania.
Law enforcement spokespeople said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when the tractor-trailer they were driving allegedly veered off the side of Interstate 81 and crashed into the roadway below, near St. Johns Road. Paramedics transported the tractor-trailer driver to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity following the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 81 runs north and south through the center of Butler Township, which is about 109 miles north of downtown Philadelphia.
Police are still examining the cause of the accident.
