On or about Sunday, January 31st, 2021, around 10:30 at night, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler sent one individual to the hospital. Local law enforcement representatives said the accident happened on the northbound side of Interstate 81 just outside Hazleton in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when an 18-wheeler allegedly lost control and rolled onto their vehicle. Emergency responders cut one individual from the wreckage of the car and rushed them to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. It is not clear if the truck driver reported injuries.
Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation lowered the speed limit to 45 miles per hour as a result of the snowy conditions.
