On or about Friday, June 18th, 2021, around 4:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an 18-wheeler sent at least one person to the hospital. Authorities said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 95 in Robeson County, North Carolina.
Troopers from the NCHP said at least one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly sideswiped another semi truck in the northbound lanes of I-95. After the initial collision, both trucks rolled off the side of the roadway, with one of them catching fire a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics treated at least one person for unspecified injuries after the accident.
Interstate 95 runs north and south through the center of Robeson County, with the scene of the accident a short distance from the South Carolina state line, according to Google Maps.
Police are still examining the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
