On or about Thursday, December 17th, 2020, around 6:15 in the morning, an accident between an SUV, a car, and a tractor-trailer sent a 40-year-old woman to the hospital with serious injuries. Law enforcement said the accident happened in the southbound lanes of Metro Parkway between Arc Way and Crystal Drive in Fort Myers, Florida.
Investigators said a 40-year-old woman was injured when her Ford Focus allegedly struck an 18-wheeler that was backing into a business across the lanes of Metro Parkway. After the initial collision, an SUV collided with the rear of the Focus. First responders transported the woman in the Focus to a nearby hospital.
Photos from the scene of the accident show heavy front-end damage on the Focus, with the tractor-trailer blocking at least one of the southbound lanes of Metro Parkway.
Florida Highway Patrol is assisting with the investigation at this time.
