On or about Thursday, December 10th, 2020, around 6:00 in the morning, an accident involving a tractor-trailer sent at least one person to the hospital. State Police said the accident happened along the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Bensalem in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when an 18-wheeler allegedly slammed into a concrete barrier, throwing concrete debris into the lanes of oncoming traffic where it struck several cars. Paramedics transported at least one person to the hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the Pennsylvania Turnpike is six lanes wide in the area, with a concrete barrier dividing east and westbound traffic.
Police are still examining the cause of the accident.
