On or about Thursday, December 30th, 2021, sometime in the afternoon hours, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian sent one individual to the hospital by helicopter. Officials from the KSP said the accident was was reported along the Pennyrile Parkway in Christian County, Kentucky.

Representatives from the Kentucky State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was rushed to the hospital after they were allegedly hit by a passing tractor-trailer as they were changing a tire on the side of the Pennyrile Expressway. Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital where they were taken by helicopter to a hospital in Nashville for treatment.

According to Google Maps, the Pennyrile Expressway cuts north and south through Christian County, which is about 70 miles northwest of downtown Nashville.

Police are still investigating the accident.
