On or about Thursday, April 7th, 2022, around 11:45 in the morning, a serious accident with a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer sent one person to the hospital. Law enforcement officials said the accident was reported along Route 1 in Hancock, Maine.
Representatives from the Maine State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly crossed over the center line of Route 1 when the truck’s load shifted. After the truck crossed over the center line of Route 1 it struck a van in the oncoming lanes of the roadway. Emergency responders transported the driver of the van to the hospital with unspecified injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Hancock is about 36 miles southeast of downtown Bangor.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
