On or about Friday, December 3rd, 2021, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles sent a 60-year-old woman to the hospital. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported at the intersection of Route 11 and Sophia Street in the Village of Philadelphia, New York.

Authorities from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified 60-year-old woman was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the back of a car that had stopped to make a turn off Route 11. After the initial impact, the car was pushed into the path of a second vehicle. Emergency responders transported a woman from one of the cars to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries after the collision.

According to Google Maps, Philadelphia is about 180 miles northwest of Albany.

Police have said the truck driver may be cited in connection with the collision.
