On or about Wednesday, March 24th, 2021, around 5:00 in the afternoon, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a car sent one person to the hospital. Troopers from the ISP said the accident was reported on the eastbound side of Route 6 in Marseilles, Illinois.
Deputies from the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office said one as-of-yet unidentified person was taken to the hospital after their car allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders transported the driver of the car to Peoria Hospital with unspecified injuries. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement.
According to Google Maps, Route 6 runs along the northern edge of Marseilles, which is about 77 miles southwest of Chicago.
Illinois State Police are assisting in the accident investigation.
