On or about Friday, January 7th, 2022, around 8:30 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Officers from the area said the accident was reported along Senter Road near the exchange with the Capitol Expressway in San Jose, California.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Senter Road. Emergency responders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries several days after his arrival. Officials did not mention any other injuries or vehicles in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Senter Road winds north and south through the south side of San Jose.
Officials are still trying to track down the tractor-trailer and driver that fled the scene.
