On or about Wednesday, March 10th, 2021, around 6:25 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car sent one person to the hospital. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened along State Route 52 in San Diego, California.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when an 18-wheeler allegedly experienced a tire blowout and struck their car. The collision pushed the car off the roadway, where it tumbled down an embankment and crashed into the San Diego River below. Paramedics transported one person from the car to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the dividing line between Santee and San Diego.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident at this time.
