Details:
On or about Friday, January 8th, 2021, around 1:50 in the afternoon, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a car sent one individual to the hospital with serious injuries. Troopers from the ISP said the accident happened in the 2800 block of Southwest Washington Street in Peoria, Illinois.
Officers from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when their car and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified conditions, and that the victim was trapped in their car following the accident. Emergency responders cut the victim from the car and rushed them to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officials did not elaborate on what may have led to the accident.
Looking at the scene on Google Maps shows Southwest Washington Street runs north and south along the banks of the Illinois River. The accident happened in the south central part of Peroia.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
