Details:
On or about Thursday, March 11th, 2021, around 3:20 in the morning, an accident between a car and an 18-wheeler sent a 21-year-old woman to the hospital with critical injuries. Police said the accident was reported along Fort Street near Waterman in Detroit, Michigan.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified 21-year-old woman was injured when the car she was a passenger in and a tractor-trailer collided under unknown conditions. Emergency responders rushed the woman to a nearby hospital where she was last reported in critical condition. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary statement.
Photos from the scene show the passenger vehicle wedged beneath the trailer of the 18-wheeler.
Authorities are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
